An information management system for restricting access to personal data in compliance with law or regulation includes a database having restricted records stored therein, at least one of the records including an identification of a client or group of clients about whom said record concerns. A computer system under the control of a trusted information broker is configured to receive via a communication medium a request initiated by a requestor for access to at least one of the restricted records in the database, the request including an identification of the requestor. The computer system is further configured to transmit a request for consent to the client and receive an indication from the client that the client consents or does not consent to access to the restricted record by the requestor. The computer system grants or denies access to the restricted records based upon the indication from the client.
L'invention concerne un système de gestion de données destiné à limiter l'accès aux données personnelles en conformité avec la loi ou les règlements. Le système comprend une base de données dans laquelle sont stockés des enregistrements à accès limité, dont au moins un enregistrement comprend une identification d'un client ou d'un groupe de clients concernés par ledit enregistrement. Un système informatique piloté par un courtier en information de confiance est configuré pour recevoir, par un support de communication, une demande introduite par un demandeur d'accès à au moins un des enregistrements à accès limité stockés dans la base de données, ladite demande comprenant une identification du demandeur d'accès. Le système informatique est en outre configuré pour transmettre une demande de consentement au client et recevoir une indication du client selon lequel le client consent ou ne consent pas à l'accès du demandeur à l'enregistrement à accès limité. Le système informatique accorde ou refuse l'accès aux enregistrements à accès limité sur la base de l'indication fournie par le client.
