It is intended to provide a compound highly specific to amyloid .beta.-protein to be used in diagnosing diseases with amyloid .beta.-protein accumulation, a staining agent specific to amyloid .beta.-protein and treating and preventing diseases with amyloid .beta.-protein accumulation. It is also intended to provide a probe for neurofibrillary changes and a staining agent for neurofibrillary changes.
