New compounds for the treatment of various cardiovascular and inflammatory diseases, including atherosclerosis, post-angioplasty restenosis, coronary artery disease, angina, small artery disease, arthritis, asthma, dermatitis, multiple sclerosis and psoriasis, are needed. Certain compounds of the general formula (see above formula) are provided wherein: Z is a pyranose group; oxiranyl-substituted hydroxyalkyl; hydroxylalkyl-substituted oxiranylmethylene; oxiranyl-substituted hydroxyalkoxyalkyl oxiranylmethylene; oxiranylmethylene; substituted alkenyl; dialkylaminophenylalkyl; or -(CH2)-R e; or their pharmaceutically acceptable salts or esters for the treatment of certain cardiovascular and inflammatory diseases mediated by VCAM-1.
De nouveaux composés destinés au traitement de diverses maladies cardiovasculaires et inflammatoires, notamment l'athérosclérose, la resténose post-angioplastie, les maladies coronariennes, l'angine, les maladies des petits vaisseaux, l'arthrite, l'asthme, la dermatite, la sclérose en plaques et le psoriasis, sont requis. Certains composés présentant la formule générale (voir formule ci-dessus) sont fournis dans lesquels Z est un groupe pyranose, un hydroxyalkyle substitué par un oxiranyle, un oxiranylméthylène substitué par un hydroxylalkyle, un oxiranylméthylène hydroxyalkoxyalkyle substitué par un oxiranyle, un oxiranylméthylène, un alcényle substitué, un dialkylaminophénylalkyle, ou -(CH2)-R e, ou leurs sels pharmaceutiquement acceptables ou des esters pour le traitement de certaines maladies cardiovasculaires et inflammatoires dans lesquelles VCAM-1 joue un rôle.
