ABSTRACT In a procedure for filling packaging, in particular paper sacks or paper bags, the filling material is emptied from a filling material container that is lowered into the packaging and then emptied when in the lowered position within the packaging. After the emptying procedure, the filling material container moves back into its starting position. Prior to the filling material container being lowered into the packaging, a plastic film bag that is closed at the bottom and open at the top is slipped over the filling material container and, together with the filling material container, is lowered into the preformed packaging. The preformed packaging is located in a preforming apparatus. The filling material container is emptied into the plastic film bag.
