ABSTRACT A procedure and device for applying vibration to the human body by means of vibrating elements is disclosed. In the procedure, the vibrating elements are caused to vibrate in such a manner that they generate intensity pulses and the intensity pulses generated by different vibrating elements have a phase difference. The device comprises at least two vibrating elements which are caused to vibrate in such a manner that they generate intensity pulses and the intensity pulses generated by the vibrating elements have a phase difference. These elements are vibrated at an audio frequency in the range from 20 Hz to 200 Hz and are arranged in a substantially linear array within a support structure. There are means for setting the frequency of vibration of each vibrating element and means for controlling the intensity of vibration of each element and the total intensity of the vibration produced by all the vibrating elements.
