Abstract of Disclosure The present invention relates to a procedure for cleaning a sinter used for filtering a metal catalyst suspension. As taught by the invention, the sinter is treated with an aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide for displacing the metal catalyst left in the pores of the sinter with the aid of the gas produced by the decomposition of the hyd- rogen peroxide, caused by the metal catalyst, until gas formation ceases, indicating that no signifcant quantit- ies of metal catalysts are left in the sinter.
