This is a description of a catalytic cracking process for ammonia in a fluid containing hydrosulphuric acid in which the fluid is introduced into a reactor containing an appropriate catalyst and the catalytic cracking effluent is recovered. The temperature of the reaction zone is 1000 to 1400°C and the reactor used in the process contains at least one heating chamber (3, 4) and at least one catalytic chamber (11) in which the ammonia is cracked but the hydrosulphuric acid is not. In another variant, the reactor may contain at least one catalyst in the spaces between the heating elements.

On décrit un procédé de craquage catalytique d'ammoniac présent dans un fluide contenant de l'hydrogène sulfuré, dans lequel on introduit le fluide dans un réacteur comportant un catalyseur approprié et on récupère un effluent de craquage catalytique. La température de ladite zone réactionnelle est de 1 000 à 1 400 °C et le réacteur pour la mise en oeuvre du procédé comprend au moins une chambre de chauffage (3, 4) et au moins une chambre de catalyse (11) dans laquelle on craque l'ammoniac sans craquer l'hydrogène sulfuré. Selon une autre variante, le réacteur peut comporter au moins un catalyseur dans les espaces définis entre des élements de chauffage.
