ABSTRACT Company known as: TELEMECANIQUE Procedure for managing the user rights for several software packages on a computer workstation and system for its implementation (Invention of BARILLIER Gilbert, GARDAIRE Gilles, JARAUDIAS Patrice and TOURNIER Yves) A procedure for managing the user rights for one or more software packages on a computer workstation (1, 10), these rights being contained in an original key module (CO) intended to interact with the workstation (1, 10) in order to authorize continuity of operation of said software packages. The method comprises a prior step (I) for creat- ing a work key module (CT) and a backup key module (C8) associated exclusively with the work key module (CT), on the basis of the original key module (CO) and of a first blank key module (CVa), followed by a step for normal operation (II) of the software packages on the work- station (1, 10). Use in the field of industrial computerization and in particular for protection against the illicit use of software packages. See Figure 1
