The object of the invention consists of a process for the manufacture of aqueous suspensions of calcium carbonate using an acrylic polymer with an average by weight molecular weight of between 8,000 g/mole and 15,000 g/mole and a molar content of less than 20% of polymeric chains of molecular weight less than 3,000 g/mole .It also concerns the aqueous suspensions obtained, possibly dried, and their uses in the paper, paint, plastics and mastics industry.
