ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to thiene diazoepinone derivatives useful as pharmacological agents having the formula Image (I) wherein each of R1 and R2 is a hydrogen atom, a straight or branch chain alkyl radical having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or R1 and R2 together form a tetramethylene chain and R3 is a phenyl group which may be substituted by a chloro nitro or trichloromethyl group or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt. The compounds may be prepared by reacting a 2-amino-3-aroyl-thiopene of the formula Image wherein R1, R2 and R3 are as above with oxazolidine-2,5-dione in the presence of hydrogen chloride and a solvent.
