ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for the binding of books, magazines and the like without the use of staples or sewing. The process comprises forming a plurality of spaced notched cuts along the central fold line of each page section to be bound. Each notched cut extends to one side of the fold line to define a projection portion between the notched cut and the central fold line. All the notched cuts are formed on the same side of the fold line. Each page section is folded along the central fold line so that the projection portions project from the fold, nesting the page sections one within another with the projection portions on an inner page section passing through the indentations formed by the notched cuts in each of the page sections outwardly thereof so that the corresponding projection portions on adjacent page sections overlap. The overlapping projection portions of adjacent page sections are then glued together. The process of the present invention avoids the requirement for metal staples or sewing with thread when binding books, magazines and similar products, and reduces significantly the labour involved in manufacture.
