ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: The present invention relates to a method for the preparation of saturated and unsaturated .alpha.,.omega.-dialde- hydes containing from 8 to 12 carbon atoms, by catalytic reduction of the corresponding monoozonides of multi-un- saturated cycloolefines. The .alpha.,.omega.-dialdehydes thus obtained also constitute an object of this invention. These com- pounds serve as intermediates for the synthesis of other products which in turn are compound intermediates, such as the corresponding diacids and diamines, from which the var- ious types of nylon can then be obtained.
