ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a process for cold working a metallic work material, wherein, to the metallic work material to be worked or onto the working surfaces of a tool to be used for working there is applied a lubricant comprising (a) at least one organic solvent selected from benzene, tri- chloroethylene, chlorofluorohydrocarbons, fluorobromohydro- carbons, chlorobromofluorohydrocarbons and trifluoroacetone and (b) calcium stearate or zinc stearate.
