Process and apparatus for attaching small tear-open strips to packaging material or the like A b s t r a c t (in conjunction with Figure 3) The feeding of small tear-open strips to a blank or to a sheet of packaging material is a spec- ial problem in packaging technology, especially when high performances have to be achieved. The present apparatus makes it possible to feed small strips in a timed sequence and to apply them to a sheet of packaging material by the use of conveying members which are effective only in one direction in relation to a contin- uous strip for forming the small strips, so that the strip is respectively pulled along in portions. As a result, a high performance and especially the transit- ion from intermittent conveyance of the strip to contin- uous transport of the sheet of packaging material are possible.
