ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a process and an apparatus for balancing a body of rotation in two parallel balancing planes disposed perpendicular to the rotational axis of the body. A slotted plate disposed substantially per- pendicular to the axis of rotation of the body conducts the rotary and trans- latory vibrations to separate transducers. The slots essentially divide the plate into an outer frame and central portion, which are connected by narrow linking strips. The rotary vibrations are transmitted by linking strips which are stressed in bending, where as the translatory vibrations are transmitted by linking strips which are stressed in tension or compression. Unwanted force factors are eliminated by interposing members between their source and the foundation, such as by mounting the rotating body and slotted plate upon springs, which in some instances may be vertically disposed.
