ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process and apparatus are disclosed for catching a runaway exothermic reaction involving or carried out in the presence of a liquefied gas. If the reaction begins to run away, the liquefied gas is released into a condenser, is condensed therein and is collected in a receiver. The process is simple, avoids loss of the gas and satisfies environmental and safety regulations.
