A process and apparatus for collecting continuous fibers or filaments as a uniform batt comprises a filament emitter in the form of a spinning die, a venturi, a diffuser, and a fiber collection bed. The filaments move downward after being created by the emitter, and exhaust ports create in the diffuser an airflow having a direction against the flow of the filaments so that the filaments are decelerated before contacting the fiber collection bed.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil permettant de recueillir des fibres ou filaments continus sous la forme d'une natte uniforme et comprenant un émetteur de filaments sous la forme d'une matrice tournante, un venturi, un diffuseur et un lit de recueil de fibres. Les filaments se déplacent vers le bas après avoir été créés par l'émetteur et des orifices de sortie créent, dans le diffuseur, un flux d'air possédant une direction opposée au flux des filaments, de manière que ceux-ci soient décélérés avant de venir en contact avec le lit de recueil de fibres.
