A process and apparatus for controlling separators used to separate suspensions of fibers is disclosed. In a system in which at least one separator is used to separate a fiber suspension into fractions containing components of the feed suspension, sensors are used to generate information relating to a characteristic of at least one of the formed fractions. The information so generated is then used to control the operational parameters of the separators. In further embodiments of the invention, sensors provide information to controllers, which in turn control the separators.

Cette invention concerne un processus et un appareil permettant de régler des séparateurs utilisés dans la séparation de suspensions de fibres. Ce processus fait appel à un système qui comprend au moins un séparateur permettant de séparer une suspension de fibres en fractions contenant des composants de la suspension de base. On utilise, dans ce système, des capteurs qui vont générer des informations relatives à une caractéristique d'une ou de plusieurs fractions ainsi formées. Les informations ainsi générées servent ensuite à régler les paramètres de fonctionnement des séparateurs. Dans d'autres modes de réalisation de cette invention, des capteurs vont envoyer des informations à des unités de commande qui vont à leur tour régler les séparateurs.
