A procedure and device for degassing and maintaining a low level of hydrogen in liquid aluminum alloys when they are transported in containers. The procedure involves circulating in the container a stream of gases that are inert relative to aluminum, at a slow, controlled rate and then evacuating the said gas(es) from the container. The device consists of at least one container and at least one cylinder containing a gas under pressure; the container and bottle are connected by a circuit consisting of a regulator, a flowmeter and a gas injection system. The upper part of the container is equipped with a system for the controlled release of the gas. This invention reduces and prevents gassing of the metal during transport and gives users an aluminum alloy that is ready for casting and metallurgically sound.
Procédé et à dispositif de dégazage et de maintien d'une faible teneur en hydrogène dans les alliages d'aluminium liquides au cours de leur transport dans les poches. Le procédé est caractérisé en ce que l'on fait circuler dans la poche un flux de gaz inertes vis à vis de l'aluminium suivant un débit faible et contrôlé, puis on évacue le(s) dit(s) gaz hors de la poche. Le dispositif est constitué d'au moins une poche et d'au moins une bouteille contenant un gaz sous pression reliées entre elles par un circuit comportant un détendeur, un débitmètre, un système d'injection du gaz, ladite poche étant équipée à sa partie supérieure d'un système de fuite contrôlée du gaz. Cette invention permet de réduire et d'éviter le gazage du métal au cours du transport et de fournir aux utilisateurs un alliage d'aluminium apte au moulage de pièces ayant une bonne santé métallurgique.
