A process and apparatus for forming a coherent refractory mass on the surface of a road wherein one or more non-combustible materials are mixed with one or more metallic combustible powders (2) and an oxidizer (7), igniting the mixutre so that the combustible metallic particles (2) react in an exothermic manner with the oxidizer (7)and release sufficient heat to form a coherent mass under the action of the heat of combusiont and projectin ghtis mass agains the surface of a road so that the mass adheres durable to the surface of the road.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil de formation d'une masse réfractaire cohérente sur la surface d'une route, dans lesquels un ou plusieurs matériaux non combustibles sont mélangés à une ou plusieurs poudres combustibles métalliques (2) et à un oxydant (7), après quoi le mélange est enflammé, de sorte que les particules métalliques combustibles (2) réagissent de manière exothermique avec l'oxydant (7) et dégagent suffisamment de chaleur pour qu'une masse cohérente soit formée sous l'effet de la chaleur de combustion. Ladite masse est ensuite projetée sur la surface d'une route, de sorte que la masse adhère durablement à la surface de la route.
