A process for recovering crumb rubber from used vehicle tires wherein the tires are comminuted in three comminuting operations, the second and third of which are prefaced by contact with a liquid cryogenic. The cryogenic liquid which is gasified upon contact with the tire particles, is reliquefied and recycled.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de récupération sous forme de copeaux du caoutchouc des pneus usagés de véhicules. En l'occurrence, les pneus sont réduits en morceaux en trois opérations, la deuxième et la troisième opération étant précédées d'une mise en contact avec un liquide cryogène. Ce liquide cryogène, qui se gazéifie au contact des particules de pneus, subit une reliquéfaction suivie d'un recyclage.
