PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR MAKING P2S5 OF LOW REACTIVITY ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: The invention relates to a process for making phospho- rus pentasulfide of low reactivity. To this end, molten phosphorus pentasulfide is solidified and the solidified product is ground. More specifically, solid phosphorus pentasulfide coming from a cooling zone with a tempe- rature of 150 to 220°C is introduced into a heat-insula- ted tank and freed therein from its immanent heat by controlled cooling at a rate of at most 30°C/h. The inven- tion also relates to an apparatus for carrying out this process.
