PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR MAKING STABILIZED FABRICS Abstract of the Disclosure Process and apparatus for making stabilized fabrics which include a fabric layer, an air-permeable bonding layer of thermo- plastic material and a stabilizing layer of staple or continuous filament fibers. The stabilized fabric is made by aligning the fabric layer and advancing it under tension to a bonding station. The bonding layer is advanced with the stabilizing layer and is heated to its melt temperature. The bonding and stabilizing layers are then advanced into contact with the fabric layer and are urged together at the bonding station under pressure sufficient to have the melted bonding layer penetrate into the fibers of both the fabric layer and the stabilizing layer.
