A mixing apparatus for continuously generating a homogeneous mixture of a polymer and a less viscous fluid is provided. The mixer includes means (22) for continuously injecting a viscous polymer into a pressure vessel (37); means (23) for continuously injecting a lower viscosity fluid into the pressure vessel, means (21) for continuously injecting a plasticizing agent into the viscous polymer entering the pressure vessel; high shear centrifugal mixing means (28) within the pressure vessel for mixing the polymer and the less viscous fluid; drive means (39) for rotating the rotational mixing means; heating means (67, 68) for maintaining the temperature of the substances being mixed in the pressure vessel at a desired mixing temperature; and means (50) for continuously discharging a homogeneous mixture of the polymer, the plasticizing agent, and the less viscous fluid from the mixer.
L'invention porte sur un appareil mélangeur produisant en continu un mélange d'un polymère et d'un liquide à viscosité inférieure et comportant: un moyen (22) d'injection continue d'un polymère visqueux dans un récipient (37) sous pression; un moyen (23) d'injection continu d'un liquide à faible viscosité dans ledit récipient; un moyen (21) d'injection continu d'un plastifiant dans ledit récipient; un moyen de mélangeage centrifuge (28) à fort cisaillement du polymère et du fluide à faible viscosité, situé dans le récipient sous pression et conçu pour mélanger le polymère et le liquide moins visqueux; un moyen de mise en rotation (39) de l'appareil mélangeur à rotation; un moyen de réchauffage (67, 68) maintenant la température des substances en cours de mélange dans le récipient sous pression au niveau voulu; et des moyens (50) d'évacuation en continu d'un mélange homogène constitué du polymère, du plastifiant et du liquide moins visqueux.
