The present invention provides an apparatus and method for forming confectionery products into desired shapes. In an embodiment; the ingredients of a confectionery product, such as a bubble gum, are blended together. The ingredients are mixed, cooled and then formed into traditional center pieces. Next, the center pieces are fed into an underwater pelletizer (16). The underwater pelletizer cuts the extruded confectionery pieces into miniature products. A recirculating supply of water immediately sweeps away the miniature products from the pelletizer, cools the products and transport the products to a centrifugal dryer (36). The centrifugal dryer separates the miniature products from the circulating water. The separated miniature products are immediately dusted with an anti-agglomerating compound. Finally, the product is coated or otherwise packaged for consumption.
L'invention concerne un appareil et un procédé permettant de façonner des produits de confiserie dans des formes voulues. Dans un mode de réalisation de cette invention, les ingrédients d'un produit de confiserie, tel qu'un chewing-gum, sont unis. Ces ingrédients sont mélangés, refroidis puis façonnés comme des pièces de centres traditionnelles. Ensuite, ces pièces de centres sont amenées dans un granulateur immergé (16). Ce granulateur immergé découpe les pièces de confiserie extrudées en produits miniatures. Une alimentation d'eau de recirculation entraîne immédiatement les produits miniatures hors du granulateur, les refroidit, et les transporte vers un séchoir centrifuge (36). Ce séchoir centrifuge sépare les produits miniature de l'eau de circulation. Les produits miniatures séparés sont immédiatement saupoudrés d'un composé anti-agglomérant. Enfin, le produit est enrobé ou confectionné pour la consommation.
