This invention discloses a novel process to maintain constant developer strength in a printing plate manufacturing operation. Such a process enables development of more plates than conventional processes allow, while at the same time using less quantity of developer and generating less liquid waste. The process is suitable for both batch type and continuous plate development operations. The invention also describes an apparatus suitable for the above- described process.

L'invention concerne un nouveau procédé permettant de maintenir la puissance du révélateur à un niveau constant lors de la fabrication d'une planche d'impression. Un tel procédé permet de développer un plus grand nombre de planches qu'il n'est possible selon les procédés classiques, tout en faisant appel à une quantité réduite de révélateur et générant ainsi moins de déchets liquides. Ce procédé convient à la fois au développement des planches en continu et par lots. L'invention se rapporte également à un appareil convenant à la mise en oeuvre du procédé décrit ci-dessus.
