A process for cooking and shaping a precut meat piece, comprising the steps of: a) placing an uncooked meat piece of irregular shape adjacent an inlet of a shaping mould; b) biasing said meat piece into said shaping mould inlet; c) submitting the shaping mould to vibration-borne displacement forces for deformingly driving the meat piece fully inside said shaping mould; d) stopping the vibration forces; e) applying heat to the shaped meat piece for cooking the meat piece; and f) biasing said cooled meat piece outwardly from the cooking vessel.
