ABSTRACT "Deep Drawing of Films" A method and apparatus is described for the cold deep drawing of plastics films (4), in which only those parts of the film (4) which are to be deformed during the deep drawing process are heated shortly before and/or during the deep drawing process by means of friction elements, but not the parts which are not deformed during the deep drawing process. Preferably the friction element is the deep drawing die (5) which is caused to rotate about its axis to generate frictioned energy when in contact with the film (4).
