ABSTRACT Coal powder is fed from a fluidization vessel operated at high pressure to a gasification reactor operated at virtually the same pressure via a thin line connected to the vessel by a nozzle and to the reactor via a burner. The powder is passed from the vessel through the nozzle while dispersed in gas and in a direction perpendicular to the direction of fluidization in the vessel.
