ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: An apparatus for the co-extrusion of a foil consisting of two differently coloured or colourless melt- streams, each melted in its own extruder, of thermoplastic plastic. The apparatus comprises a wide-slot tool with a distributing channel, a choker-bar, a flow-channel consisting of a bottom and a top lip, and a nozzle. It is characterized in that two wide-slot tools, geometrically alike in cross- section, each having a nozzle-width corresponding to that of the two melt-streams, are flanged together to form a tool having a nozzle-width made up of the individual nozzle-widths. And a process carried out by this apparatus.
