ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method and apparatus to electrochemically purify gallium is disclosed where a platinum anode is inserted into an electroytic cell which contains the unpurified gallium as an anode and the purified gallium as a cathode, the platinum anode serving to reduce the gallium ion level in the electrolyte addition.
