26767-10 ABSTRACT A process for the purification of synthetic oligonucleo- tides is described which drastically simplifies the hitherto very time consuming purification process. The deprotection solution is adsorbed without being concentrated on a carrier having reversed phase properties and optionally ion exchanger properties, the oligonucleotides without lipophilic protecting group are removed, their protecting group is cleaved off from the adsorbed oligo- nucleotides, the adsorbed oligonucleotides are washed and eluted from the carrier and then purified in a manner known per se.
