Abstract Process and apparatus for the treatment of a powdered soluble material The apparatus comprises a filling tube (8) for feeding the powder-form material and, coaxially of the filling tube, two wetting devices, of which the inner device is formed by a circular slot (5) while the outer device is formed by an annular sintered metal plate (4) and the opening of the filling tube for the material, the opening of the slot for the gas stream and the opening of the sintered metal plate for the supply of steam lie in sub- stantially the same plane.
