PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: La présente divulgation décrit un procédé et un applicateur pour sécher un isolant diélectrique perméable aux micro-ondes et à l'eau, faisant partie d'un dispositif électrotechnique à haute tension, au moyen de micro-ondes. Le dispositif électrotechnique possède un conducteur central autour duquel se trouve l'isolant; le dispositif étant logé à l'intérieur d'un cylindre creux conducteur d'électricité, le conducteur central étant coaxial avec le cylindre pour former une ligne coaxiale de transmission de micro-ondes. Les micro-ondes sont transmises à travers la ligne coaxiale de transmission pour chauffer l'eau contenue dans l'isolant diélectrique, pour la transformer en vapeur d'eau, et pour ainsi sécher l'isolant. La ligne de transmission de micro- ondes est étanche à l'air et la vapeur d'eau est évacuée au moyen d'une pompe aspirante ou d'une trappe à froid.
