Processes for the preparation of polyphenol polymers useful as surface coatings wherein the process is carried out in the absence of organic solvents, and the polyphenol polymers are the reaction products of a phenolic polymer or copolymer, an amine, and an aldehyde, ketone, or mixture thereof; and the aqueous solutions resulting therefrom.

L'invention concerne des procédés permettant de préparer des polymères polyphénoliques utilisés comme revêtements de surface. Ledit procédé est mis en oeuvre en l'absence de solvants organiques, et les polymères polyphénoliques sont les produits réactionnels d'un polymère ou d'un copolymère phénolique, d'une amine, et d'un aldéhyde, d'une cétone ou d'un mélange de ces produits.
