The invention provides a process for the recovery of ascorbic acid from an aqueous feed solution containing the acid at a concentration of less than 0.7 mol/kg, comprising extracting the ascorbic acid with a water- immiscible organic extractant composition comprising: (a) at least one secondary or tertiary alkyl amine in which the aggregate number of carbon atoms is at least 20, as a primary extractant, and (b) a polar extraction enhancer compound; separating the ascorbic acid-containing organic extractant composition from residual aqueous solution, and subjecting the ascorbic-acid-containing organic extractant composition to a stripping operation with aqueous solution at a temperature of at least 20 °C higher than the temperature at which the extraction is carried out; whereby there is obtained an aqueous solution of ascorbic acid in which the concentration of ascorbic acid is higher than its concentration in the aqueous feed solution.
L'invention concerne un procédé de récupération de l'acide ascorbique dans une solution d'apport aqueuse contenant l'acide en concentration de moins de 0,7 mol/kg, qui consiste à extraire l'acide ascorbique à l'aide d'une composition d'extraction organique immiscible dans l'eau comprenant (a) au moins une alkylamine tertiaire ou secondaire dans laquelle le nombre total d'atomes de carbone est d'au moins 20 et faisant office d'extractant primaire, et (b) un composé polaire accentuant l'extraction; à séparer la composition d'extraction organique contenant de l'acide ascorbique de la solution aqueuse résiduelle et à la soumettre à une opération de rectification, la température de la solution aqueuse étant d'au moins 20 DEG C supérieure à celle à laquelle l'extraction est effectuée. Ainsi, on obtient une solution aqueuse d'acide ascorbique dans laquelle la concentration d'acide ascorbique est supérieure à celle présente dans la solution d'apport aqueuse.
