To fill insulating glass panes with a heavy gas, one of the glass panes from which the insulating glass pane is formed is at first only partly joined to the other glass pane during assembly and it is bent along one edge to form a temporary, slit-shaped opening between the glass plate and the spacer, through which a heavy gas can be introduced into the space inside the insulating glass pane.

Pour remplir une vitre isolante avec un gaz lourd, lors du montage, on commence par assembler partiellement l'une (40) des plaques de verre constituant la vitre isolante avec l'autre plaque de verre (42), puis l'on replie ladite plaque (40) le long d'un bord pour former, provisoirement, une ouverture en forme de fente entre la plaque de verre (40) et l'entretoise (41), ouverture par laquelle l'espace intérieur de la vitre isolante peut être rempli avec un gaz lourd.
