A process is disclosed for coating at least one optical waveguide (LW) with a filling mass (FM).Coating is carried out in at least two successive filling stages (FS1, FS2). Between the filling stages, part of the filling mass (FM) is stripped by a scaper (AE) with a reduced cross-section. Part of the thus stripped filling mass (FM) is passed by the scraper (AE) through a bypass (BY) and is returned by the scraper AE) to the coated optical-waveguide (LW).
