A B S T R A C T The continuous production of a composite strip (10) with at least one core layer (7) of plastic and metal outer layers (8,8') on both sides is such that the superimposed layer. are subjected to heat and pressure as they are passed through at least one gap (3) between rolls (1,1') with parallel axes, the size of the said roll gap (3) being smaller than the total thickness of the layers before they are bonded together. A tensile force (Z) acting in the direction of movement (x) of the strip is applied to the strip (10) to lead the layers through the roll gap (3), and the rolls (1,1') are pulled round by the tensile force (Z) applied to the strip (10). The tensile force (Z) is transferred to the composite strip (10) via the rolls (5,5') of a pulling facility (A). -1-
