The invention concerns a process and device for fitting wheel heads on a vehicle chassis. Chassis (1) and wheel head (6) are first brought into a reference position relative to one another. Wheel guide elements (3, 5) which have not yet been finally fitted are used to determine the securing positions for the reference position and secured.
