The invention concerns a process for preparing 1,2-dichloroethane (EDC) by feeding chlorine and ethylene into circulated EDC which contains a catalyst. A partial stream of the reaction mixture is fed to a flash vaporization system and the vaporized EDC is separated from its light volatile components which are returned to the reaction.

L'invention concerne un procédé de production de 1,2-dichloroéthane, consistant à introduire du chlore et de l'éthylène dans du 1-2-dichloroéthane en circulation, renfermant un catalyseur. Ce procédé consiste à introduire un flux partiel du mélange réactif dans un système de vaporisation instantanée, à séparer le 1,2-dichloroéthane évaporé des composants volatils légers, puis à réintroduire ces derniers dans le circuit de réaction.
