ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In order to produce plate-shaped bodies made of a mixture of plaster and fibrous materials, first a mat is produced in a known manner by spreading a wet mixture of plaster and fibres. The mat is then com- pressed in a first press until a raw plate is obtain- ed. This raw plate is transported through a subse- quent wetting station in which water is again applied to the top and bottom faces of the raw plate. The subsequently wetted raw plate is again compressed in a second press. The plates obtained after setting and drying have a considerably higher solidity than known staff plates.
