This invention concerns a process and device for storing food stuffs, plants, meat and other organic substances in which the products to be stored are held in a hermetically sealed cold chamber with no ap- erturcs, where the temperature is even everywhere and lies in the range from +0.5 to -0.5 °C. The device has at least one chamber (1) which can be hermetically scaled by a cover, whereby the chamber (1) and the cover (12) are bordered by double walls enclosing sealed spaces (2, 6) and the sealed spaces (2, 6) arc in mutual heat-conducting communica- tion, the inner of the double walls is preferably made of plastic and tire sealed spaces (2, 6) are filled with a refrigerated, non-freezing fluid and the outside of the double wall is lagged (3).
