ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The disclosure teaches a process for auto- matic control of a physical quantity of an extruded element issuing from an extruder by means of a first and second regulating loop. The first regulating loop comprises the measurement of the quantity carried out on the hot element in close vicinity of the exit of the extruder for quickly regulating and correcting variations from a first reference value. The second regulating loop comprises the measurement of the quantity carried out on the cooled element for provid- ing a regulation of the quantity with respect to a second reference value of the cooled element. The disclosure also teaches a device for carrying out the process.
