As known as such a main information carrier wave (OP) and an auxiliary wave (OA) selected to couple with the exterior more readily than the said main wave are injected on a link fibre (14). According to the invention, a test modulation whose phase (A) is measured on the wave (OR) backscattered from the fibre is applied to the said auxiliary wave. The invention applies to the transmission of classified information.
