A device (10) for implementing a process, especially for the electrically induced agglomeration of gasbom particles has a flow channel (12) through which an aerosol containing particles (14) is taken. There is at least one pair of electrodes (20, 22) in the flow channel (12) to give the aerosol a bipolar charge; said electrode (20) is connected, without an earth to the positive terminal and said electrode (22) is connected without an earth to the negative pole of a current source, the power of which is sufficient to generate a corons discharge between the electrodes (20 and 22). The electrodes (20 and 22) of each pair are needle-shaped, insulated from the flow channel wall and arranged in such a way that their points face each other. It is possible with the device (10) to give an at least almost symmetrical bipolar charge to the aerosol taken through the flow channel (12) without there being any noteworthy particle deposition in the region of the electrodes (20 and 22) or in the flow channel (12).
L'invention concerne un dispositif (10) permettant de mettre en oeuvre un procédé concernant notamment l'agglomération induite électriquement de particules transportées par gaz, qui comporte un canal d'écoulement (12) fermé à travers lequel on fait passer un aérosol contenant des particules (14). Pour assurer une charge bipolaire de l'aérosol, il est prévu au moins une paire d'électrodes (20, 22) placées dans le canal d'écoulement (12). L'électrode (20) est reliée, sans mise à la terre, au pôle positif, et l'électrode (22) est reliée, sans mise à la terre, au pôle négatif d'une source de courant, dont l'intensité est suffisante pour produire une décharge à effet de couronne entre les électrodes (20 et 22). Les électrodes (20 et 22) de chaque paire d'électrodes se présentent sous forme d'aiguilles et sont disposées, isolées par rapport à la paroi du canal d'écoulement, de manière à ce que leurs pointes (26) soient opposées. Ce dispositif (10) permet d'assurer une charge au moins approximativement symétriquement bipolaire de l'aérosol que l'on fait passer à travers ledit canal d'écoulement (12), sans entraîner de dépôt particulaire notable dans la zone des électrodes (20) et (22) ou dans le canal d'écoulement (12).
