An apparatus for the recovery of a halogen or pseudohalogens from a halide compound in solution; wherein the apparatus includes; an electrochemical cell including, an electrode assembly including at least a first and second electrodes in communication with a controller for providing a current to at least two of said electrodes; wherein, upon delivery of a predetermined voltage, said halide compound is oxidised at one or more said electrodes to form a halogen corresponding to said halide in solution whereupon said halogen is deposited on said one or more electrode upon completion of oxidation.

L'invention concerne un appareil de récupération d'un halogène ou de pseudo-halogènes dans un composé d'halogénure en solution. L'appareil est pourvu d'une cellule électrochimique comprenant un ensemble d'électrodes avec au moins une première et une seconde électrode en communication avec une unité de commande de façon à alimenter au moins deux des électrodes. Avec la distribution d'une tension prédéterminée, le composé d'halogénure est oxydisé sur une ou plusieurs desdites électrodes pour former un halogène correspondant à l'halogénure en solution, suite à quoi l'halogénure est déposé sur une ou plusieurs électrodes au terme de l'oxydation.
