Ce procédé d'insertion d'un élément précédent puis d'un élément suivant dans le sol, le long d'une trajectoire théorique, pour la réalisation d'un ouvrage, comporte : - une étape (80) de détermination d'une erreur absolue de positionnement d'un élément précédent par rapport à la position nominale à laquelle l'élément précédent aurait du être inséré, et - une étape (74) de guidage automatique du bras d'insertion vers une position cible à laquelle doit être inséré un élément suivant réalisée en fonction de l'erreur absolue de positionnement déterminée pour l'élément précédent de manière à réduire l'erreur de positionnement relative de l'élément suivant par rapport à l'élément précédent.
