The invention relates to a process and vehicle (1-3) for the disposal of carbon dioxide. Gaseous carbon dioxide is solidified and allowed to free fall through open water where it at least partially embeds itself in sedimentary formations. Sedimentation ensures that the marine environment is an overall carbon sink through carbonate sedimentation.

L'invention concerne un procédé ainsi qu'un vecteur (1-3) de mise au rebut du dioxyde de carbone. On solidifie le dioxyde de carbone gazeux et on le laisse tomber librement en pleine mer où il s'enfonce au moins partiellement dans des formations sédimentaires. La sédimentation permet à l'environnement marin de devenir un puits global de carbone par séquestration du carbonate.
