A process challenge device (PCD) for determining the effectiveness of a microbial deactivation process that uses a vaporous deactivating agent (e.g., vaporized hydrogen peroxide) as a deactivating agent. The PCD includes first and second layers that are joined together to form (1) a chamber dimensioned to receive a biological and/or chemical indicator, and (2) first and second conduits fhiidly connecting the chamber with a region outside the PCD. Each conduit has one end in communication with the region outside the PCD and another end in communication with the chamber. A removable seal member seals the biological and/or chemical indicator inside the chamber.
La présente invention concerne un dispositif d'épreuve de procédé (PCD) servant à déterminer l'efficacité d'un procédé de désactivation microbienne qui utilise un agent désactivant en phase vapeur (par exemple du peroxyde d'hydrogène vaporisé) en tant qu'agent désactivant. Le PCD comprend une première couche et une seconde couche qui sont unies l'une à l'autre pour former (1) une chambre dimensionnée pour recevoir un indicateur biologique et/ou chimique et (2) un premier conduit et un second conduit mettant en communication de fluides la chambre avec une zone à l'extérieur du PCD. Chaque conduit a une extrémité en communication avec la zone à l'extérieur du PCD et une autre extrémité en communication avec la chambre. Un élément d'étanchéité amovible enferme hermétiquement l'indicateur biologique et/ou chimique à l'intérieur de la chambre.
